Shatika is a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Emergency Registered Nurse with over a decade of critical care nursing experience. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Shatika strives to help patients achieve optimal health and develop self-efficacy, and collaborates to improve the quality of their lives.
Shatika is passionate about holistic wellness, integrative nursing, and providing accessible care to underserved communities. Before joining NYCBS, Shatika worked in emergency nursing as an RN and later as a Nurse Practitioner managing adults with sickle cell anemia and disease at Montefiore Medical Center. She was an invited presenter at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners conference in 2021, presenting therapies for comprehensive pain management in sickle cell anemia.
Shatika graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delhi, New York. She later achieved a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Columbia University in New York. She is committed to scholarship and nursing excellence and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Theta Tau honors societies. She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
