Ambassador

George Calcanes serves as NYCBS Practice Ambassador. Since 1998, George has served as Chief Clinical Officer. He focused on clinical quality and safety, value-based initiatives to improve quality while reducing the cost of care, performance improvement, and oversight of the overall clinical delivery of care. George was influential in the accreditation process for CAP, CLEP, ACHC, and QOPI. After 35 years in administration, George continues to engage the NYCBS community, and the need to bring our clinical professionals together to leverage our respective strengths in his new role as ambassador. Additionally, he ensures the safe administration of biologic treatments and medication regimens. George is a registered nurse and has a bachelor’s degree in administration. He has cared for patients in the following areas, Intensive care unit, Cardiac Care, Emergency care, Hospice, and spent nine years as a Pediatric Charge nurse. An absolute people person, George loves his colleagues and enjoys coming to work every day.
