Dr. Grace Joins Manhattan Cancer Associates

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists Welcomes New Physician

New York, NY, June 10, 2020- New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is pleased to announce William R. Grace, M.D. has joined the team of city physicians. Dr. Grace is a board-certified medical oncologist who will be practicing at the Manhattan Cancer Associates located at 945 5th Ave, New York, NY 10021.

Dr. Grace has over forty years of experience. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Notre Dame in 1965. Thereafter, he attended the Boston University School of Medicine to obtain his Doctor of Medicine. His internship and residency training were completed at Saint Vincent’s Hospital Medical Center of New York. He completed his fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire specializing in hematology/oncology.

His interest in research led to the NIH Naval Medical Research Institute in Bethesda, Maryland where he was a Research Associate in Immunology and Experimental Hematology. Dr. Grace was Lieutenant Commander of the Naval Medical Corps and Clinical Associate as the Director of the Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Program.

Dr. Grace is a past president of the New York Cancer Society which is an organization for all medical, radiation and surgical oncologists in New York State.

“I will bring a considerable amount of my research into cytometric testing (live tumor chemosensitivity testing) to New York Cancer & Blood Specialists,” said Dr. Grace. “I will write protocols for the physicians for many of the recalcitrant cancers that we treat which will bring added value to the patients and the group.”

Dr. Grace was Chief of Cancer Research and Chief of Medical Oncology at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center of New York for nearly two decades.
