Virginia Luparello-Ragusa is an experienced oncology nurse practitioner with over twenty years of clinical expertise across hospital, outpatient, infusion, and emergency oncology settings. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Oncology Certified Nurse who is dedicated to delivering relationship-based, patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on continuity, clear communication, and supportive guidance. She graduated summa cum laude with her MSN from Mount Saint Mary College and holds additional certifications in chemotherapy and biotherapy, ACLS and BCLS, and ultrasound-guided IV insertion, along with multiple academic and professional honors.
Virginia practiced at Northern Dutchess Medical Oncology, where she provided comprehensive oncology care across the office, hospital, symptom care clinic, and infusion suite. Her role included performing detailed medical and psychosocial assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, managing chemotherapy and toxicity-related complications, and providing urgent care for infusion reactions. She also performed inpatient oncology consultations and conducted rounds for patients newly diagnosed in the emergency room or hospitalized for cancer-related complications.
Throughout her career, including her years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Virginia has overseen chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, coordinated multidisciplinary care, and supported patients with complex oncologic and hematologic conditions. She is skilled in interpreting diagnostic data, supporting survivorship care, educating patients and families, and serving as a preceptor and team leader. She remains committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, research support, and participation in clinical trial recruitment.
