Laureen Callahan is a skilled, certified Physician Assistant, with 11 years of oncology experience. Over the years, she has developed the necessary skills and expertise to become an intergral part of our team. She currently works with a team of 50 medical and radiation oncologists and serving as the physician assistant to the CEO. She works with our pain management team and eases our patients’ discomfort. In addition, she is a subclinical investigator in 10 cancer and hematologic clinical trials and research. She has experience in emergency and aesthetic medicine. Laureen earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Hofstra University, majoring in Physician Assistant studies and minoring in Psychology. Additionally, she also completed her PA graduate training at Hofstra. Prior to her career with NYCBS, Laureen worked as the Director of Clinical Operations and Supervising Physician Assistant at Linchitz Medical Wellness, overseeing all chemotherapy administrative operations including pre-surgical and prior authorization clearances. Additionally, Laureen served in the clinical rotation at numerous medical facilities including Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and Nassau University Medical Center. Throughout the years, Laureen has passed her skills and knowledge on to others serving as a preceptor at the prestigious Stony Brook University Physician Assistants program, as well as Hofstra University and Touro College. She is currently certified in chemotherapy and biotherapy and infection control. Laureen is an integral part of our team, as she always strives to provide the highest compassionate cancer care.
