Nurse Practitioner

Joannie Almonte is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in emergency and critical care medicine.

Joannie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, where she completed advanced clinical rotations in the Medical ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Liver & Kidney Transplant units at NYU Langone Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Rochelle, graduating magna cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from SUNY Binghamton.

Joannie has developed particular expertise in trauma care, rapid assessment, and clinical decision-making in high-pressure environments. Her experience includes working at Level I trauma centers and managing patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath.

Joannie is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to provide care for a wide variety of patients. She is certified in TNCC, ACLS, PALS.

Joannie actively mentors new nursing staff and is dedicated to advancing healthcare access through volunteer work, including medical missions to Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana
