Internal Medicine
Robert Hendler, MD is a skilled physician who earned his medical degree from St. George’s University of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Hendler has been dedicated to research since 2013. He assisted with the study, the design, and co-authoring the grant proposal for a pilot clinical study to investigate the role of probiotics in colorectal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Dr. Hendler was also heavily involved with the research and analysis of clinical trial publications on the adverse effects of Ipilimumab. Dr. Hendler has developed quality improvement measures to enhance his patients’ experience. He is experienced in current hypertension management strategies in diabetic patients and aims to provide the best possible care. Dr. Hendler spends his free time hiking, cooking, swimming, reading literature and meditating. He has numerous publications and is currently board certified in internal medicine.

"My visits to see Dr. Samuel at NYCBS are always timely, quick yet thorough. The process for my upcoming iron infusions was explained to me clearly, ensure I fully understood what to expect next.
Ive been a patient for 15 years or more and have nothing but good things to say! The complimentary bagels and danish etc offered by the NYCB offices is so appreciated and comforting especially for patients who are sit there for hours getting long IV treatments and Infusions.
Around 2009, my care began with Dr. Samuel and his assistant Janet, PA. Both are amazing providers and have gentle bedside manners. I always got great care especially during sick and not so good days.
I will remain a patient of NYCBS for infinity as well as their many new and growing sister offices such as New York Health Primary Care office of Dr. Robin DaCosta who has been my doc for 2 years and is very calming and thorough at all my visits.
