Dr. Jonathan Alverio is a dedicated and compassionate board-certified Internal Medicine physician and board-eligible Palliative Care specialist. He has a strong commitment to providing exceptional care to his patients, with a particular focus on pain management and harm reduction for those navigating cancer and opioid use disorder. Dr. Alverio has been recognized for his expertise in this area, having presented at the Annual Assembly of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine on the importance of these issues.

Throughout his career, Dr. Alverio has worked extensively with underserved communities, particularly in Chicago, where he provided critical care to vulnerable populations during his residency. His ability to connect with a diverse patient base is further enhanced by his fluency in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Alverio earned his bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Yale University and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago and his fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Northwell Health in New York in 2024.

Outside of work, Dr. Alverio enjoys live music, playing golf, and is a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions football team.
