Dr. Jeffrey M. Ambinder is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist dedicated to delivering exceptional care to his patients and community. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Ambinder has been practicing at the 2049 Strang Blvd office full-time since 1999, serving the Westchester area with dedication. Dr. Ambinder's approach to patient care is deeply personal. He believes in treating patients like family, fostering close relationships that are key to quality care. His commitment to his practice and patients is evident in the awards he has received, recognizing his ability to blend intellect with humanitarianism. Dr. Ambinder has received the Regional Top Doctor Award and the Westchester Magazine Best Doctor Award both for 9 consecutive years.

Dr. Ambinder obtained his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at Duke University Medical Center. He did laboratory research at Rockefeller University and Hospital and was an assistant professor of medicine at New York Medical College.

Previously, Dr. Ambinder founded Oxford Medical Center Group in 1982, where his practice grew and matured over the years. His team includes a nurse practitioner whose warmth, intelligence, and compassion significantly contribute to the practice. The chemotherapy/hematology infusion suite at his office is a special place where patients feel comfortable and cared for, thanks to the dedicated support staff, including a nurse admired for her confidence and excellence, an LPN known for her quality care, and a caring presence at the front desk.

Dr. Ambinder is a devout Jew, a husband, and father of eight children. He finds strength and balance through his faith. He is the founder of a small, special education school in Monsey, a mostly Jewish Orthodox community in Rockland County, where he resides. Dr. Ambinder makes house calls and sees patients in his home after hours if travel is too difficult. He is a humane practitioner of medicine, believing in giving hope to his patients and providing tailored, individualized care for the patient’s best interest.
