Dr. Jay Lipshitz is a distinguished board-certified hematologist-oncologist with over 15 years of experience. He came to New York Cancer and Blood Specialists from Maimonides Medical Center where he was Hematology Program Director. He also served as Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Associate Program Director and is an experienced educator, having taught fellows and residents at Maimonides and medical students at SUNY Downstate Medical School.
He has conducted research in various areas of hematology and has extensive expertise in conditions including myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasms, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, chronic leukemia, anemia, thrombocytopenia and coagulation disorders.
Dr. Lipshitz obtained his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following this, he completed an internal medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, along with a hematology/oncology fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center, where he held the position of chief fellow.
In addition to his clinical and educational contributions, Dr. Lipshitz is proficient in both English and Hebrew.
