Dr. David J. Straus is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist with a special interest in hematologic malignancies, particularly malignant lymphomas.
With over 30 years of clinical practice, Dr. Straus has treated a wide range of patients with malignant lymphomas, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and multiple myeloma. His clinical research interests have predominantly focused on malignant lymphomas, leading him to author more than 150 publications on the topic. Dr. Straus has conducted impactful clinical trials in various areas, including Hodgkin's lymphoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, HIV-associated lymphomas, and studies assessing the quality of life and survivorship issues in lymphoma patients. Dr. Straus received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. After completing his Internal Medicine Residency at Montefiore Hospital, Dr. Straus completed his Hematology Fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital, followed by a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Hospital. Previously, Dr. Straus served in the United States Army. He is also a Professor of Clinical Medicine at Cornell University Medical College.
