Welcoming Dr. Nyembezi L. Dhliwayo

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), one of the nation’s leading oncology practices, proudly announces the addition of Dr. Nyembezi L. Dhliwayo, a highly-skilled and compassionate Medical Oncologist, Hematologist, and Internist also with specialized expertise in Hospice and Palliative Care. 

Dr. Dhliwayo will be practicing at 101 Pennsylvania Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207 and 2236 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11210.

Dr. Dhliwayo brings a patient-centered approach to cancer care, combining clinical excellence with deep compassion and empathy. She treats a wide spectrum of complex adult cancers, with a focus on breast, lung, melanoma, head and neck, and genitourinary cancers including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. She also manages both benign and malignant blood disorders such as chronic leukemias, multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia, and platelet disorders.

Dr. Dhliwayo is dedicated to using innovative, multi-modal diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, including gene-based targeted therapies and immunotherapy to deliver personalized care. Her dual training in oncology and palliative care enables her to address not only the disease, but also the physical and emotional symptoms that impact her patients’ quality of life.

She earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, completed her Internal Medicine residency at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, followed by a Palliative & Hospice Medicine Fellowship at Rush University/John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, and a Hematology & Oncology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Fellow.
