Dr Hasan A. Rizvi

Dr. Hasan A. Rizvi was born in Karachi, Pakistan.

His father was a prominent attorney and when asked what he wanted to do when he grew up, he always said he would become a Judge so that he could tell his father what to do for a change. As a young man he experienced first-hand the suffering, illnesses and hardships that the poor and uneducated people of Pakistan endured, simply as they were unaware and misinformed of proper health care.

So many lives could have been saved and so much suffering avoided only if they knew and had access to appropriate health care.

Since then he decided to help people with whatever means he could and what better way than to become a doctor.

He did his Bachelors in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Physiology from the University of Karachi and to his surprise he graduated at the top of his class, he was not expecting this as he was known to be a trouble maker and not very studious.

Graduated from Dow medical college with an MBBS degree in 1975 and came to the USA for further training and to explore the world and himself, wanting to know what made the world go around, what made him feel fulfilled?

He did his Residency in Internal Medicine at the VA hospital in the Bronx, NY affiliated with Mt. Saini University Hospital in Manhattan NY.

After three years of the Internal Medicine Residency, he did two years of Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola NY under the guidance of a prominent Oncologist, Dr. Larry Nathanson and a world renowned figure in the management of melanoma.

Subsequently, he did another year of fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Rizvi has been dedicated to taking care of Oncological and Hematological diseases in private practice since 1984.

His passion is taking care of sick people and seeing a smile on their face.He loves to develop a bond with his patients and their loved ones and they become his extended family.

His other passions are traveling and experiencing different places and cultures, that has made him realize that no matter how much the cultures might differ, the human needs and desires remain the same and are universal.
