BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Philip Schulman, MD, FACP is a board certified physician in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He specializes in the hematologic malignancies including, leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. He graduated CCNY with a BS in biology as a magna cum laude and phi beta kappa honoree. He went on to receive his MD at SUNY-Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He then completed his internal medicine residency at NSUH-Weill Cornell Medical Medical center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. His fellowship in hematology/oncology was at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer. He then served a distinguished academic career at North Shore University Hospital as Director of the Hematology/oncology fellowship program, Associate Chief of Hematology and Chief of a newly formed leukemia service, which he was instrumental in starting. At the time f his departure this service ranked as the number one leukemia care service on Long Island recruited the second most protocol patients to Cancer and Leukemia Group B studies. In addition he attained the rank of Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell and the Professor of Clinical Medicine at NYU School of Medicine when the hospital affiliation changed. His career took a new trajectory when he was recruited by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to serve as Chief of the Medical Oncology Network Service on Long Island. He remained as chief for 13 years at which time The number of cancer patients that were seen tripled. For the past 4 years he has served as Director of Medical Oncology for Nanthealth, a cancer genomics company based in Culver City, CA. Clinical Research. Dr. Schulman has authored more than 150 proffered papers and medical abstracts. and has served as vice chair of the CALGB leukemia committee, Board of Directors for the CLL Research Consortium and as a member of the Data Safety Board.
