After reading about signs associated with inflammatory breast cancer in the book, Melissa decides to see her obstetrician for a screening and is eventually diagnosed with stage III inflammatory breast cancer. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation, and reconstruction, Melissa is faced with a second diagnosis of a brain tumor. However, she perseveres through it all and credits her success to the individualized care that she received.
